Indications

Tooth decay

  • The tooth consists of three layers i.e. enamel, dentin and pulp. A cosmetic filling is used to repair minimal tooth decay involving only enamel or enamel and dentin. The decay is removed and a cosmetic resin dental filling is used to restore the lost tooth structure. It prevents further decay and also strengthens the affected tooth.

Composite Fillings are strong, durable, and make for a very natural looking smile.

  • Depending on the extent of tooth decay or damage, the affected tooth may require additional or alternative procedures, including: root canal treatment, dental crowns, extractions followed by replacement.

Gaps between anterior teeth

  • If the gap between the two teeth is very small then closing the gap with composite bonding provides a quick solution to the problem. Composite bonding is the process of applying an enamel-like material to the surface of a tooth. It is then hardened, sculpted and polished to create a perfect smile. It is a simple process that is usually completed in one visit. While bonding costs less than veneers, the results may not last as long and will need to be redone eventually. Also, the bonding material is susceptible to staining and hence requires polishing regularly.
